After spending the last two years dealing with the devastating effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, it looks like we are finally reaching the light at the end of the tunnel. ACS Returns to Indianapolis The American Coatings Show, which was canceled in 2020, is scheduled to be held April 5-7 in Indianapolis. This month’s issue features a special Exhibitor’s Showcase for select suppliers to the paint and coatings industry who will be participating in the American Coatings Show and Conference, as well as a sneak peak at some highlights at this biennial event. 2022 CEO Forum One of my favorite annual features is our CEO Forum. The 2022 CEO Forum features interviews with executives from ten coatings companies offering their insights on the state of the industry. This year’s forum includes CEOs from leading coatings companies from the U.S., Europe and Asia Pacific. This year’s participants are Uta Holzenkamp, CEO, BASF; Steve Crossman, COO, HMG Paints; Michael H. McGarry, chairman and CEO, PPG Industries; Lars Petersson, president and CEO, Hempel Group; Abhijit Roy, CEO, Berger Paints; Christophe Sabas, CEO, Beckers Group; Thierry Vanlancker, CEO, AkzoNobel; Yuichiro Wakatsuki, Representative Executive Officer & Co-President, Nippon Paint; Armodios Yannidis, CEO, Vitex S.A., and Robert Bryant, CEO, Axalta. In memoriam On a sad note, Dr. Phil Phillips, long-time contributing writer of our Business Corner column, has passed away. Phil was well respected in the industry and was a wonderful colleague and friend to many. I have fond memories of spending time with Phil at various industry events around the world. Our sincere condolences go out to Phil’s family. Please see our tribute to Phil.
